I am the principal owner of 49th Parallel Properties, Ltd., a Texas-based limited partnership that buys defaulted mortgage notes and distressed single-family real estate in the United States.
I specialize in buying and investing in non-performing notes on residential properties. I also buy distressed single-family homes, primarily in Texas. I have past experience with property rehabs/remodels (fix & flips), long-term rentals, wholesaling and “wholetailing”, buying subject-to and owner financing.
Although being born and raised (and still living) in Alberta, Canada, I've been actively involved in single-family real estate investing in the United States since 2009. I have past work experience as a mortgage underwriter for Cedar Peaks Mortgage Services, a direct private mortgage lender located in Calgary, Canada. Prior to a career in real estate, I have worked as a geologist in various roles and positions in the Oil & Gas and Mineral Exploration sectors.
I find joy in helping others grow their personal wealth and retirement savings through real estate and real estate-backed notes. I am a real estate coach and have taught property wholesaling and many other real estate investing related topics to hundreds of students. I also have online training courses on YouTube, where I teach the fundamentals of private lending and show people how to create passive income streams by becoming the bank and lending against real estate and real estate notes from their self-directed IRA retirement savings accounts.
